table, chair, microphone, sugar glass, one hour

Accompanied by a chair, a table, a microphone (plugged in and turned on), and a glass that had been cast out of sugar, I waited for an hour in front of an audience. Rather than wait for something to happen, my intention was simply to wait for the hour to pass. At the start of the performance, an assistant filled the sugar glass with water. After fifteen minutes, the bottom of the glass dissolved, and water leaked onto the table and the floor. After twenty-five minutes, the auditorium was more or less empty. People came in to eat their lunch. A janitor, thinking there was a lull in the program, vacuumed the space. When the hour mark was reached, I stood up and walked away, ending the performance.
