A work made in collaboration with Virginie Yassef. The performer, Pierrick Mouton, was asked to perform a moment of inactivity and boredom, "désoeuvrement" in French. The trained monkey that we hired was given no instructions. The word "singe" means "monkey" in French. The word "signe" means "sign." Virginie and I both shot the two performers. I shot on a tripod, she shot with a camera in hand. This is an edit of the footage I filmed.
